Ruben and I saw the movie “Coraline” for the first time last night. I thought it was going to be more towards a kids movie but was soon mistaken. If I was 20 years younger I would have definitely had nightmares after seeing this. It was dark and twisted…I liked it
I’ll admit I was hesitant to walk into any rooms alone afterwards. It was a good but strange storyline and the graphics/clay-mation were really cool. It was about a girl who recently moved into a new town with her parents. She wants to spend time with her parents but her parents are too busy for her. Her neighbor gives her a doll he found under his grandma’s porch that looks just like Coraline. That night she enters a mysterious door in the wall that leads her into another dimension. And thus the adventure begins. If you’re into these types of movies I’d say go for it. Here are some screen shots.

If you get a chance this weekend go visit the Parade of Homes remodel by Ertl Custom Homes (the company I work for). It’s a different house but they did an amazing job remodeling it. It’s located in Golden Eagle at 8999 Winged Foot Trail. May 16-17 are the last days to check it out.
Here’s an after shot of one of the rooms.

I got a new sewing machine for our wedding several months ago and I finally learned how to use it. My mother-in-law bought me a sewing table so now I’m all set. My first creation…a black and white couch pillow to go with our red couches. Just 5 or 6 more to go. I bought the fabric 50% off at Joann Fabrics and bought the pillow form at the Children’s Lighthouse thrift store for $2. Not bad. I’ll be recycling pillows we have here to make the other ones.

This is a moth I found in my backyard. I’ve never seen one like this before and thought it was cool looking.
